Item number 29. Do we need to take that today?

>> I'll give you a quick brief briefing on it.

>> it is to consider and take appropriate action to request a charge municipal tys for sheriff and related services.

>> I will give you this. In generally, I am confident that we have gotten all of the municipalities that participate with us in our dispatch program. I'm going to know that probably in the next two weeks.

>> okay.

>> had a meeting with them yesterday. Yes, yesterday. They have all got the new numbers with the plan that ccso submitted numbers that I think we are going to get buy in on. Like I said, if we can get two weeks back, I think we will have this thing wrapped up. And we're going to get there. By the way, I'm very encouraged and excited about the turn around that the municipalities have had with this. Because we know that at first all of us got a lot of phone calls and e-mails, they didn't think this was going to be fair am I think we have work this thing to a point where they have gone back to their folks, talked bit, and I think we do have buy in, yeah, it is something that we need to pay our fair share. The question is, how do you calculate that fair share. That's what we are going to work towards am I think that is what we are close to. I'm hopeful that way can get it work out. Can we put it back a couple weeks?

>> yes, sir, August 15 is a couple weeks. We will have it back on then.

>> yes, sir.

>> do we know whether or not that is going to be in a time line where they are dealing with their particular budget process, so if they do buy into this particular situation, the municipalities have time to make the next adjustments within their budget cycle?

>> Commissioner, yes. Because what we are going to ask is we're going to ask for 50 percent in '07, 75 percent in '08, and by '09 they are paying 100 percent. That's what they think that they can take back. Quite frankly, that helps us because it allows us to budget a few more personnel each year. That's what we are trying the get to. That's really what we are trying to them to buy in on, their percentages of personnel. So yes. It will have a positive economic effect on Travis County in '07. So they will be paying something in '07.

>> okay.
