Travis County Commissioners Court

July 11, 2006
Item 31

View captioned video.

31 is to take all necessary actions to implement payment of salary supplement for justices, court of appeals, third district of Texas. A, approve intergovernmental contract between Travis County and court of appeals, third district of Texas. B, approve job title of justice court of appeals, third district. C, approve creation of six new slots, one for each justice in civil courts legally mandated fees department. D, approve budget for revenue from intergompl al contract between Travis County and court of appeals, third district of Texas. And e, approve personnel action forms for justices. I suggested the time before that we get from them a later indicating revenue. We concluded I guess that it would be a whole lot better to put that in the interlocal agreement, which we have done, an amount for '06 as well as an amount for fy '07, and that amount just happens to be equal to what the compensation would be. So I move approval of all of these items plus the Commissioners court agreement do this conditioned upon please judges meeting applicable standards that Travis County uses for Travis County employees to get not only supplemental payments, but their regular paychecks. Unfortunately there are a few steps that must be complied with in order to get this done, so we would expect these judges to do that, and if one or more fail to do that, then I would simply call that to the attention of the chief justice.

>> and the chief justices has been working very cooperatively with us in terms of getting the materials prepared. We have one justice who will be on vacation for a few days, so his paperwork will be in next Tuesday, but other than that I expect everything to be fully completed by Thursday.

>> did you get a second?

>> we would urge all of the judges to follow the spirit of the chief justice, right? No second yet?

>> happy to.

>> questions? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Susan, thank you, and ms. Wilson, for helping me on that matter. And does that bring us to executive session?

>> we need to get the budget amendments and transfers that basically make 31 possible.

>> number 9, consider and take appropriate action on budget amendment rkz transfers and amendment items.

>> motion.

>> second.

>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
