On a-1, consider and take appropriate action on strategy to fill executive manager for criminal justice planning and executive manager for emergency services positions and related issues, what I circulated today, Commissioner Gomez was a little letter that I sent to the people we had mentioned in court last week. Those involved in criminal justice planning in Travis County, along with the job description we used for executive manager last time, and the coordinator positions, said basically please look at this and if you have any changes to recommend to the court, let me know. And I put a deadline in there, and what I'm hoping to do is touch base -- share the information that I get with the whole court, so if those who will not be with us next week have any concerns, we would just delay action. If you have no concerns, you may as well approve the job description, get it posted and save a little time is my thinking on that. And by the way, most of the people I've sent this to have sort of indicated an interest in working with us on it. And so that's why to me it made sense to go ahead and include them.

>> and it was thought with rudy that rudy would basically be anything over at the city of Austin related to a.p.d. As the best central contact?

>> actually, the recommendation came from chief knee when he was still there and I said let's send it to judge mckeevey. Plus I thought that rudy would probably get with any other people in a.p.d. That he thought would provide input.

>> okay. So that's the kind of status report from us.

>> judge, let me just give you an update on hours we're meeting again tomorrow to bring back a little different language with the help of hr to more clearly define the es position as an executive manager's position because the job description that we felt like that we had previously, a number of us felt like that it needed a little additional tweaking and perhaps even some new language. So we're going to see that, our committee will see that tomorrow at 7:00, so I think we'll be able to bring this back to everybody next week even though two people are going to be gone. There's not much in it that needs to change, but given the fact that we do think that there is some clarification and a few more specifics regarding the need for credentials for an executive manager in that position versus a coordinator position that is closely aligned with earlier.

>> I think that we should be ready with bringing something to the court Tuesday after this meeting because I think we're just about there.

>> once these are posted, you need to post them probably for 30 days. You can have somebody to sort of help with the screening as they roll in, but normally you don't get a whole lot unless you post it for that long.
