Number 2 is a public hearing to receive comments regarding a request to temporarily close olympus drive in precinct three for "the parade of homes" starting on June 22 and continuing through July 9, 2006.

>> move to open the public hearing.

>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.

>> this is the seven oaks subdivision, you are well aware of this, from harley way, the closure of old limb pus that we did -- olympus that we did several weeks ago, the seven oaks neighborhood had requested that they be able to reclose during this parade of homes, I think it was a consensus this would a good idea because of the number of people that would be coming in to view the homes. The signs have been posted where -- formally posting the closure as we would for any closure. I think everyone from the adjoining neighborhood is aware of the proposed closure during the -- during this event. I don't know if there's anyone who may be showing up for -- to testify on this item.

>> any objections filed with us?

>> not to my knowledge.

>> would anyone like to give testimony during this public hearing? Please come forward. You can give us your name, we would be happy to get your comments.

>> my name is john jackson, I'm on the bluff side, I just wanted to be sure to make sure we remembered our part of the agreement. We are in support of it, we know it was part of getting the road open. Take just a brief amount of your time to let you know how things have gone since it's opened up. It's been more positive than we all expected, a little bit more, the majority of the traffic does seem to be flowing towards the bluffs in the evening, we have some construction guys that I think are real happy to be able to get to food since the shell station closed from seven oaks. There seems to be from the people I've talked to no cuernavaca through traffic. I'm hoping that the measurements actually bear out what we have seen. Really the only comment that I have got is we don't really want the temporary closure to be a regular thing. But we appreciate everything that the Commissioners have done to make this work.

>> thank you very much.

>> thanks.

>> john, thanks and -- and I do want everyone to know that i, too, am pleased with how things seem to be going because I think that it is a lot smoother than what we had anticipated. And, joe, thanks for, you know, getting out there as quickly as you did. I mean getting the line -- getting the stripes, getting the speed limit signs and it really does, I mean, other than the fact that when you are coming down marlin way coming from Bee Caves road you do have to ride your brakes because it's a pretty steep hill there. But I do think that we are moving in the right direction and -- and in you all are aware that the home -- the home builders association, which really is the group that puts the parade on, I mean, versus it being a -- a lot of people think that it's a seven oaks event. It just so happens that the parade is at the seven oaks development, but the -- but the home builders of Austin, they have -- they have offered and I think that steve marshal is pulling together, >> [indiscernible] pulling together a list of the residents in the bluffs where you all will be given free admission to the parade, you know, just sort of a kind of an olive branch so to speak, which I think is really good, I mean, for both neighborhoods. So I appreciate, john, you coming down this morning and everything that you all have done.

>> would anyone else like to give testimony during this public hearing?

>> move to close the public hearing.

>> second.

>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. This will be action item no. 21 on today's agend.
