3. Consider and take appropriate action regarding the prohibition of the sale or use of restricted fireworks in the unincorporated area of Travis County.
>> good morning, pete baldwin, interim emergency services coordinator, I bring this item to you today. We have polled all of the fire chiefs, they were in support of this action. Currently our benchmark of 500 on our -- we are at 415 today. But as I have tracked it over the past week, we are rising about 12 points per day without any rain and the heat, which means about this time next week or Wednesday we would be at the 500 mark. However, state law requires us to -- to put an order in place by June 15th and make sure of the fireworks stands know that these two restrictive firework, missiles with fins and the stick rockets are not to be sold. It does not apply to any of the other fireworks. And so -- so with that, based upon our projected -- projected weather conditions come July 4th I would recommend that we approve banning those two revisibilitied fireworks.
