Travis County Commissioners Court

Item 19
19 is to consider and take appropriation action to request to waive certain permitting fees for girl scout camp facility at pace bend park.
>> udge j my question on this was not so much the willingness or try to figure out another way to col plish the same thing. When we have had these things come up before, I guess I知 thinking of dot, we found another source of funds so that we could say, we didn't have any kind of special waiving of fees because it opens the gate. But we figured out some way that somebody else replace the monies that would be coming in. On the dots it was from our economic development fund, although from what I understand from tnr they have not come in to tap the use of those dollars. I知 trying to think in terms of the plat reimbursement fee rather than saying we're waiving the fee, we found another source of money within the corporation. So me, since we don't waive fees at the expo center, I felt uncomfortable with the idea of waiving but I知 more than willing to get darn creative, let's find the source that gets transferred over to take care of this work. We get to the same place. I just want to have it more of a pure nature of it. I don't know if we got, judge, 2700 perhaps in one of our corporations. This is kind of one of those one one-time things related to a facilities situation. I壇 like to keep it so that there's not a precedent set here here. There's a flat-out waiver.
>> I think even though when I was approached with my initial reaction was, what have we done with these kind of things before before. You know, there's all sorts of history all over the place with a number of these. You really do want to find a source where you can just pluck it out of there and say, this is where it comes from. Maybe it's, I don't know, do we tie it to one of our nonprofit and maybe like what you're talking about.
>> I would ask ms. Flelling to see, because there is one-time, if there's some undesignated service dollars for one of our contracts that fell by the way wayside or whatever, sometimes that occurs and she has pennies in the couch. Another possibility is one of our corporations. This is one time we have a long established history of helping out with facilities construction projects and this would be consistent with what we have done, safe place, parent infant training, first t, any number, meals on wheels, any numbers of facilities that we have been assistings with and this would be consistent in terms of paying the dollars and becoming part of investment, as opposed to a wafer I知--a waiver. I知 trying to get to the same place this small amount of money it seems like between the two we can find the dollars.
>> 19 will be back on the agenda next week.
>> okay.
>> and that's June 6. Vote.
