Travis County Commissioners Court
May 23, 2006
Item 21
21 is to consider and take appropriate action on letter to contract counties on medical examiner's office and autopsy services. We talked last time about sending a letter that would put them on notice that as of July 1 we may be short staffed and it wouldn't be a bad idea for them to kind of start looking around for alternative plans. Just in case. And the draft letter that they sent us is supposed to say just that. Have you had a chance to look at it?
>> I thought that it was okay.
>> okay. If it says that, then why don't we approve it. And if ms. Perez and I with ms. Debra decide to make minor changes, is that okay and send it out? Any discussion of that? Is that all right?
>> just clarification. Is the intent that the five of us would be signing this letter, judge? Because we've got it on our lerd r. Letterhead, but there doesn't seem to be signature spaces. Spaces?
>> it makes sense for all of us to sign it. They may have left that blank in case we made other changes. I think it would mean more if we all sign it.
>> absolutely, judge. And if I had -- (indiscernible).
>> and there was a motion by -- discussion? Any more discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Okay?
>> [inaudible - no mic].
>> 21? Just in case a court member has a minor change, that's all right. We need to get this in the mail tomorrow, though, preferably, right? Okay?
