Executive Session Items

Now, that brings us to executive session. #--c, the matter involving the medical examiner's office and taking it to executive session is c, which involves the terms and conditions of supplemental employment contract and performance measures for medical examiner and deputy medical examiners. This would be under the consultation with attorney and personnel matters exceptions to the open meetings act. And we'll also take up the items that are designated executive session items beginning with 36, receive briefing from the county attorney in Travis County et al versus randolph doyer and don bebee, jessica gonzales resale deed and take appropriate action. That's the consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act. 37 we pulled. It's a duplicate of 38. 38, revised language, receive radio briefing from the county attorney and take appropriate action regarding marlon torres resale deeds for the following tax cases. A, Travis County et al versus debra anne sosa and b, Travis County et al of an unknown owner, lot three and four, block 30, webberville. That's the consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act.

We will not need it. 47, we advised language, consider and take appropriate action on claim from lauren johnson for wrongful incarceration of keith ryder johnson, cause number 2021338, consultation with attorney. You should have additional backup for number 47. A-1 is to receive briefing from the county attorney regarding settlement agreement in Travis County medical examiner's facilities case and safe harbor account for funding of hartford's share of settlement. That's a subrogation matter, consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act. We will discuss these matters in executive session, but will return to open court before taking any action.


we have returned from executive session. By the way, Commissioner Gomez had to run to another commitment. We did discuss item a-8-c involving the medical examiner's office. We discussed with counsel proposed contracts, so let's get to ms. Perez by Friday of this week. Any suggestions we have. Let's say noon on Friday. And she'll try to incorporate those and if she has not received anything, then she'll know to proceed with what she has. Any other action required on this one today? I move that we authorize the county judge to sign the proposed tax resale deed to jessica gonzales who has paid Travis County the sum of $2,114.12 in cash.

>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. 45 involves the lawsuit of sarah carpenter-pineda against the county sheriff. I move that we reject the offer to settle and counter to settle in the amount of $57,000, and add attorney ad litem costs.

>> if appropriate. There's some question about the status of the litigation.

>> if that's appropriate that ought to be part of the flexibility of the county attorney's office to settle.

The agreement basically was for the county judge to get a claim form and send that to the johnsons with the understanding that mr. Johnson would complete that form, send it back to us. We will have this matter back on the court's agenda next Tuesday for further consideration and action by the court. Anything further today?

>> a-1 is the matter involving the medical examiner's office. I move that we agree to the setting up of the safe harbor account for hartford's insurance and that we authorize the county judge to sign the letter that one of the lawyers has prepared and sent to us.
