Item 4

Number four is to consider and take appropriate action regarding the prohibition of outdoor burning in the unincorporated areas of Travis County and related matters. Let's take 4. Morning.

>> good morning, pete baldwin, emergency services coordinator. Difficult call. We've got a lot of moisture in the air, we've had drizzle for the last couple of days, but we haven't had enough measurable rainfall. We're still over an inch behind in our annual rainfall, coupled with 10 inches from last year. The recommendation would be that we leave the burn ban in place. We've got a chance of rain all week. Let's take a look and see if we get that measurable rain to where we could actually lift it and be safe with it. Right now I would be a little concerned about pulling it at such an early date with the little rain and moisture we've had.

>> we had a chat with the various fire chiefs?

>> yes, sir. In fact, we've talked to some of them, but we also have a major meeting with them next Monday of which we can get a consensus and bring it to you on Tuesday.

>> okay. We have time left under the current order?

>> yes, sir. It's good until the first week of March.

>> by taking no action on item number 4, we leave in place the outdoor ban against burning in unincorporated areas unless it's covered.

>> yes.

>> anything else on 4?
