Travis County Commissioners Court
February 21, 2006
Item 3
Number 3 is a public hearing to receive comments regarding a proposed street name assignment for a private easement to be known as "electric avenue," parallel to state highway 71, west of bee creek road, in precinct 3.
>> move to open the public hearing.
>> second.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> this has been our practice to give names to private easements to facilitate 911 responses. And this is an unnamed easement. The -- the people in the area have asked that this be named electric avenue. And that is -- does not conflict with any other road name in Travis County. I do not know of any objection to the proposed naming. Again, this does not mean Travis County will not maintain the easement, it does not make it a public roadway. It's just merely to facilitate 911 response.
>> would anyone like to give testimony during this public hearing?
>> move to close the public hearing.
>> second.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. By the way, item no. 2, is on the agenda as action item no. 30. Item no. 3 is on the agenda as action item no. 31. And both of those will be recommended for -- for approval as part of the consent motion.
