8, 8 b specifically. It is -- it is to recognize outgoing members of the grievance panel pool, with the certificate of appreciation of -- a very valuable certificate of appreciation, when you look at it, that doesn't always come across.

>> good morning. Human resources, to my left iser roll hardin. Karl who is on the hrmd staff, I would like for all of the members of the grievance panel to join us around the table here. We are here today. Thank you for approving the payroll, we are in the process now of recruiting from our Travis County workforce members to be considered for our 18 panel grievance pool. From those persons who will receive the payroll stuffer, we are asking that of course that -- that nomination form be submitted to h.r. So that we can go through the appropriate process to select the pool that the policy mandates that we let on your behalf. We are very, very pleased today to present to you the individuals who were either nominated by their supervisors, their peers, to serve on the 2003 through 2006 grievance panel. We have members here, we have certificates here, we will award those after we complete the actual presentation. But a part of what we have and what we see is really a task that is hidden to the workforce. This particular group, has been successful over the past couple of years in handling grievances that involve seven dismissals from the county. There was one suspension with pay, one written reprimand as well as the inconsistent application of a policy. One grievance related to that. This particular group exercised their fairness, their judgment and in terms of ensuring that not only Travis County policies but also the laws that were governed by from an employment standpoint are administered appropriately and on your behalf. They upheld 7 of the departments actions related to the type grievances that I mentioned. There were two departments, actions that were actually modified and out of that there was some 21 recommendations that this group presented back to management to better manage their employee and disciplinary type of issues. What we would like to do is recognize by name and we will issue the certificates once we have completed here, the individuals as well as the departments because these are volunteers, they don't get a stipend for serving in this capacity. They basically drop what they are doing and come before and work with earle as well as Karen to implement this process. Representing the county clerk's office is naomi bailey, a very tenured member of our employee grievance process. Counseling and education services we have constant scott. Cscd, joe rodriguez as well as paula tyson. From the district clerk's office, we have car la emory. Representing hhs, deborah cortez, judy drummond, mike main in order, james or doug rollins as well as michelle small. Then sheriff's office, javier hernandez, if her terry pickinger. Also alternates who have been identified and served on behalf of various departments, those are andrea bussy, yoas see torrez, glass, salazar, lebron as well as kelly percenter page, speaking on behalf of the pool is naomi bailey who wanted to give some remarks this morning.

>> good morning Commissioners court.

On a personal note, I wish to thank a co-worker who I had previously supervised before my nomination, for his confidence and my ability and what I could offer to the panel. I would also say to you as a manager supervisor that I not only gain additional information, but I also have been a resource within my own department.

>> I appreciate your -- how many times did you have to override?

>> I don't believe at all. Right, Karen? Never, which speaks to --

>> softballs like that, there's always a good answer. [laughter]

>> never.

>> we appreciate your hard work.

>> we sure do. Is there a term limit on this service?

>> it's a two year term that ended the end of December, however, we do have some pending situations that this particular panel will -- will take care of until the new one is put in place.

>> thank you all very much.

>> thank you for your outstanding service.

>> thank you all.
