5. Consider and take appropriate action on order declaring local disaster to address the potential threat of wildfires due to drought and adverse weather conditions and banning the use of combustible materials, including fireworks, in outdoor environments, pursuant to section 418.108 of the government code.
>> the fire chiefs also stressed the desire to keep this in place for at least another week, simply because it gives them an excellent tool in dealing with the hot works issues, the weldings. They have requested that we leave that disaster declaration in place so we will have a -- we will have an effective means of dealing with welding.
