>> second.
>> discussion of routine personnel am e. Amendments? Naifer favor that passes by unanimous vote. 17-b is to consider and take appropriate action on non-routine personnel action, a promotion for employee in medical examiner's office per Travis County code section 10.03008.
>> good morning, alicia perez, executive manager for administrative operations. The code that you just noted, judge, requires that if there is an internal promotion within a department that is more than five percent of the person's salary and over midpoint of a pay range, we are required to come before the court. This individual that you have before you that we would like to hire, the salary that we are proposing is more than five percent over his current salary and over midpoint. And the reason that we are -- we are requesting the salary and the exceptions to the policy is that mr. Hall has 23 years as a medical service specialist in the armed forces. He has a very good background on medical, legal death investigations. Has conducted numerous ones. Has experience in surgical equipment, procedures, organ donation procedures. He has very fundamental knowledge and care of emergency services, and is just the sort of person that we're looking for to promote up and have -- reduce the turnover in that area.
>> I’d just like to say based on his experience, qualifications, education, etcetera, we expect him to be able to hit the ground running.
>> absolutely.
>> and be able to help out from day one.
>> yes. And it almost owndz sounds like the person was wonderfully overqualified for the job they originally took, and this really is the better slot if the slot had been available.
>> move approval.
>> second.
>> everybody moves approval. The judge moves proobl and seconds. Discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Thank y'all very much.
