Housing Finance Corporation

Now I call to order the Travis County housing finance corporation. Item number one is to consider and take appropriate action on request to renew membership in national association of local housing finance agencies.

>> good afternoon. I’m harvey Davis, manager for the corporation. The membership invoice is for $897. If you recall, the corporation joined nalfa, which is the national association of local housing finance agencies for the first time last year, mainly to support their national convention that was in Austin. Although they are a fine organization, they do a lot of good work on national affordable housing issues, in my opinion the membership fee, we don't get the value for the membership fee that we are charging, so I’m recommending that we not renew the membership.

>> discussion? Move approval of the recommendation. I don't like to travel either, mr. Davis.

>> second.

>> we appreciate our one year memberships, don't we?

>> we do.

>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Number two is to consider and take appropriate action on request to approve two invoices for the Travis County employee wellness program.

>> and the wellness program has sent a memo requesting payments for exercise equipment. The amounts are $311.19 to wal-mart and $276 to irin company.com.

>> now, did we previously commit to the wellness program that we would assist in this manner?

>> we have a budget line item for the wellness program.

>> so this would come from that budget?

>> yes, it would.

>> that's why I move approval. And urge the members of the court to join me in using this excellent wal-mart and irin company exercise equipment is what this is, isn't it, what the picture is.

>> yes.

>> beginning the first of the year, consistent with resolution number 7.

>> judge, I don't think it's for that purpose. I know that it's not, but I don't think it's for employees -- I think -- isn't it -- I gathered that it was more for doing the tests, or is this going to be something where we're expecting people to go work out with this?

>> the equipment which is for the employees to go get education on it, how to use the equipment and be able to use it at home, not to set up a workout facility on work time, but just something to get the employees familiar with and to go through it and help them understand how to use it.

>> how to use it safely.

>> right.

>> so we're not really setting it up for us to use during the year. It is for training.

>> yes.

>> this is a nice picture. My training is probably way beyond this now anyway.

>> you can join us on the trails on run tex.

>> my motion holds. Any more discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.

>> move adjourn.

>> all in favor? That passes unanimously. Thank you.
