44 to discuss and take appropriate action auto on -- on request for criminal court's approval 44. Discuss and take appropriate action on request for Commissioners court approval of revised criminal courts interpreter compensation schedule. They are really asking for clarification on this. Do we need ms. Hale to see clarify for us or is the backup sufficient?
>> it wasn't something that we did talk about that we understood back when we were dealing with it, judge? I mean, during the budget time.
>> we did address it and took action, we think what we were doing was pretty clear because it was in response to a specific recommendation. And -- and what they are asking is for Commissioners court approval of the backup which are clarifying guidelines. January 1, 2006.
>> that is what we had discussed.
>> I think it is. Sometimes we have to like officially approve a fee schedule as opposed to the concept of what revenue is based on.
>> is that all that we are doing mr. Lawyer.
>> I believe that's right, Commissioner. The statute, I haven't looked at it recently, but I have looked at this several times in the past. But a statute sets out a -- a certain -- certain fees that -- that the courts can pay for court appointed interpreters, but it says that they can pay according to a higher fee schedule if the Commissioners court approves it. My understanding, just from reading the backup here, is that there may have been some misunderstanding about how much you get paid for increments of less than an hour. So they clarified that for the benefit of the folks that are getting paid. But -- but I don't think they increased the hourly rate, daily rates or anything, as best I can tell.
>> that just gives you the quarterly break down is all this is verifying, because it's $50 an hour.
>> yeah.
>> I would like $50 an hour, parts of an hour, seems to be enough specificity here to clearly set out what the standards are. Move approval.
>> second.
>> discussion? And if this won't clarify it, I guess next time we will try to get all of the parties in here. Discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
