Item 35

View captioned video.

35 is to consider and take appropriate action on request to hire two f.t.e.'s for security purposes at the precinct 4 office building. Now, last week we came real close to getting more information on this item. We discussed it several times so far, and why are these two people needed again?
>> to cover the metal detector in terms of the public and the probationers walking into the precinct 4 building. We appreciated the court funding the cost of the metal detectors for the precinct 4 building and the lockers, so the only missing component is the staff to man the metal detector. We have one and a half positions currently that the constable has, and the sheriff's security committee made a recommendation of 3.66, so those are the two f.t.e.'s that we're requesting.
>> the current number of f.t.e.'s is insufficient?
>> correct.
>> and you need two more basically? Two more will enable you to cover it from what time of day to what time of day?
>> from 7:00 in the morning to 6:00 at night.
>> okay.
>> rosie, just for a quick reminder,, you are located indeed out at precinct 4, which is what we're discussing right now in terms of a co-location. You also have a co-location out at precinct 2. And because of some construction things that are going on, I think we'll have some revised and revisited discussions on what else is going to be happening out there. Is there an office out there for the record?
>> no, there's not.
>> is there a cscd office out in precinct 3.
>> no, there's not.
>> we all know in terms of your location in precinct five you're in the criminal justice complex and we have courthouse security handling all your issues in the cjc and historic courthouse.
>> that's correct.
>>
>> [one moment, please, for change in captioners]
>>
>> ...these two were recommended by the -- by the security committee?
>> uh-huh.
>> move approval.
>> second.
>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> thanks, guys.
>> thank you.
>> thank you all very much.
