2. Receive briefing and take appropriate action regarding the prohibition of the sale or use of restricted fireworks in the unincorporated area of Travis County. Simon?
>> and pete baldwin is joining us, come on forward.
>> there's an order that the judge should have, that was supplied to him regarding prohibiting the sale and use of restricted fireworks, those specifically being missiles with fins and rockets with sticks. Because of the dry conditions that we are experiencing, due to the burn ban, we are requesting that that order be passed and signed.
>> would you like to put anything in here? We are under some deadlines in terms of being accident get this order out. Can you walk us through?
>> pete baldwin, Travis County emergency management coordinator. The law says we must have an order in place by December 15th in order to ban the restricted fireworks. The only two items that we can ban are stick rockets and missiles with fins. Currently with our drought situation, with our freezes that we keep having back to back, it's not going to get any better. So what we would like to do is go ahead and get this. We would normally put it on for the week before our deadline. But we felt like we are in such a dire situation that we give the fireworks people as much time as possible to keep those items from even being loaded into the stands. Excuse me. I was across the street. A little out of breath.
>> they are willing to help us with that.
>> take a deep breath.
>> but the -- it's an order that stays in effect until we bring it back to have it lifted. It doesn't have a 30 daytime frame or 60 or 90. It's in effect until we come back with an order lifting it.
>> [indiscernible] fireworks.
>> second.
>> moved and second, by going ahead and moving ahead on the signing of this particular order. Any further discussion? All in favor? This passes unanimously, thank you very much. The judge will be here by the time to go ahead and be able to get all of the orders signed.
>> okay. I would ask that the outdoor burning ban item b continue because next week we will have to do a new order so if we can just leave that one on.
>> leave it in place with no action.
>> yes, ma'am, thank you.
