Item 5

The next item is a special item. 5. Consider and take appropriate action regarding the prohibition of outdoor burning in the unincorporated areas of Travis County. We were flooded in Travis County this past weekend.
>> good morning, pete baldwin, emergency management coordinator. I’m not sure what part of the county you were in, judge [laughter] the rain that was expected came through way too quick. Dumped very little and did not really benefit us all. We're still sitting well over 600 in our drought index and with the cold fronts that have been coming through, that have been dry, we just had a briefing yesterday from troy kimmel and bob rose regarding winter conditions coming up. With all that being said, we are requesting no action to be taken, leave the burn ban in place. We will be coming back to you within the next week or so, with the order restricting that we restrict the aerial fireworks, we would like to get that in place as soon as possible to give the fireworks industry plenty of time to make sure those items do not get into the stands.
>> okay. Question his? The recommendation is that we leave in place the current outdoor burning ban and by taking no action leaving that in place. Okay.
>> thank you, pete.
>> the consent items are next.
