Moving back to number 5 since you all are there. 5. Consider and take appropriate action on revised job description for chief administrative officer in medical examiner's office. We have referred to this position as the chief operating officer. Up until this point. Butthere's a recommended change and there are good reasons why.
>> good morning, alicia perez, executive manager for administrative operations and the chief add administrative officer for the m.e.'s office. What you have before you is a collaborative work that we have done inch on this particular position, bexar county, tarrant county, king county, milwaukee. And dallas and -- san antonio, bexar county. And have worked also with dr. Ballardo, dr. Dana, dr. Peacock to review the job description we previously brought to you on the chief operating officer. And have come up with what is a -- a piece of consensus work on what the position should be titled and also -- also on the job duties. The major changes from the last one that was before you is that the title has been changed from chief operating officer to chief administrative officer to better reflect the positions oversight of administrative functions. But not the medical aspect of the m.e.'s office. And there was concern expressed by the doctors to make sure that they still had full purview over the medical aspects. Of the m.e.'s office and that was fine. Also the summary of functions in this new job description reflects the nature of the position, better reflects the nature of the position. And the position is to support the m.e.'s office, statutory responsibilities in death investigations. Third, the job is -- the job description reflects that the position will coordinate media issues with the medical examiner and serve as a spokesperson when necessary. But that media relations will need to be coordinated with the medical examiner. Okay? The fourth is that the pay grade has changed from a grade 29, which was the grade previously brought to you. To grade 27. And that is to reflect the market value of the job as determined by the market salary survey, completed by hrmd. Those are the major changes.
>> questions?
>> alicia,, I mean,, [indiscernible]
>> yes.
>> we are to understand that you do have complete buyoff with the three pathologists and how this has been put together and they are happy with this now because I know at one time they were not happy with the job description but you can say --
>> I can say that [multiple voices] maybe the word happy is not quite appropriate. But that we have reached consensus on it. Yeah.
>> good.
>> that they have looked at it enough, reviewed it. I have incorporated a lot of -- of -- most of their comments and tried to reach a -- a good medium given the directive of the court and their suggestions. So, yes, sir, there is consensus.
>> judge, I would move approval.
>> second.
>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Including Commissioner Sonleitner who is not on the dais.
