Citizens communication is next and this is to give residents an opportunity to address the court on any matter not on the agenda for up to three minutes. If you are here on a specific agenda item, an item on the agenda, then your comments should be taken when we call up that item. So citizens communication. Does anybody have sign-in form number 1? Number 2, moses williams. Number 3 would be nathaniel booker. Mr. Williams.
>> good morning, judge and Commissioners. I’m moses williams, jr. I’m here for the n.c.c. My agenda is the program that you all have is benefitting my son. We put him through that program. And I feel that that program will benefit him through school and through society of facing different add srer es that he faced outside his school and his church. Vanessa Moore and deborah britain, they are very good at what they do with the kids. The program is a very good program for teenagers. I deal with teenagers on a daily basis at my karate school, and this program that they put together with the n.c.c., it's very beneficial to any teenager that may acquire a problem in today's society. So that's what I’m here for is to ask you all to keep that program going for the teenagers.
>> thank you very much, mr. Williams.
>> thank you, mr. Williams.
>> nathaniel booker next. Mr. Booker, we'll call you whether we take up item number 6. Janet [inaudible].
>> [inaudible].
>> item number 6. Harris baker. Number 6 is a popular item this morning. Richard franklin. Number 6. Laura buelow. Number 6.
>> is there anyone in the group that's not here for 6?
>> kharmaine walker is not here for 6.
>> good morning. I simply wanted to take one minute to update you all on the commute solutions challenges that we've been holding and remind everybody that this week is the last week of the commute solutions challenge that is being operated region-wide, not by Travis County but by campo and the commute solutions partners. We had a very successful commute solutions challenge in our own house. We had over 700 people participate in that program. We gave away $2,000 worth of prizes. And I just wanted to let people know and rephaoepbd people that the current commute solutions challenge and today is an ozone action today is operating until Friday. You should get an e-mail about it today from i.t.s. If you will click on the link, which is www.commutesolutions.com, you can enter the program if you walked to lunch, brought your launch, participated in a meeting by conference call instead of driving. So I encourage everybody to try to participate in this program because there is an employer challenge going on and we are in the running with u.t., the city of Austin, and a couple of others, dell and a.m.d. To win that contest. And so I hope that all employees who can hear me will log on and track what you've been doing for the last three weeks. Thank you very much. And I appreciate y'all's support for these programs.
>> thank you.
>> when can we get any kind of points for doing this commute solutions that my office did two and a half months ago?
>> you get p.r. Points. [laughter] I do appreciate y'all's enthusiasm with the program, but unfortunately the only way you can enter is from October 9th through the 22nd. Thank you.
>> you can do it again, Gerald.
>> mr. Wheeler.
>> good morning, judge, Commissioners. My name is don wheeler, director of road maintenance and fleet services. I was honored last night to be able to go to the 26th annual disabilities award recognition ceremony held by the city of Austin. T.n.r., Travis County and t.n.r. Road and bridge division was recognized as the public employer for 2005 for our program we have in the road and bridge, which is -- the application and hiring processes flexible hiring with a wide range of disabilities to allow. Allowances are made for applicants are learning disabilities including extended time given to applicants and employees to meet hiring requirements. Reasonable accommodations are providing to facilitate hiring and training of employees with disabilities. We have a program in road and bridge to help facilitate employees especially with disabilities to obtain a c.d.l., which is a commercial driver's license. A lot of you may or may not know that's a very hard license to get. It's not just like going down and getting your driver's license. You have to do several tests and driving tests. So to help our sells and help our community, we've extended our training process in this program and I want to -- I accepted this award on behalf of Travis County t.n.r. But also for my supervisors who implement this program. They do the hiring and also the training. I just help facilitate it, but they are the ones that actually do it and I just wanted to accept this and pass it on and congratulate Travis County because we have an award.
>> all right!
>> congratulations.
>> thank you, mr. Wheeler.
