Travis County Commissioners Court
September 6, 2005
Item 7
Now we call up action item no. 7 a and b, which are worded the same way as public hearings 1 and 2 are worded. Commissioner?
>> judge, I mean, I would move that we postpone it until give it one week to work out, bring it back next week and we will see if we have a solution. If not I will be ready to make a recommendation for a motion next week as to how to move this thing along.
>> we will have 7 a and b on the court's agenda next week. I would -- I would appreciate the parties coming together and really trying to resolve these issues. I don't know that living through the history will help, it has not helped today. But if we can take the facts as they are and try to figure out a solution that -- that the affected residents can live with, then I think it will be a win-win. Joe, if -- you need the names and phone numbers of those interested in focusing on resolving this problem between now and Tuesday. So the meeting likely will be Thursday -- Thursday or Friday of this week?
>> yes, we will try to set up before the end of the week.
>> it can be out near cedar street.
>> certainly. If we can find any safe place, yes [laughter]
>> west side service center.
>> Gerald, I will second that. Could I also just throw in another potential solution here that is not one that is written up in our things. I don't like the idea of a driveway to serve one person. There are two property openers that are at least half -- have access -- access that front that little piece. So I would like for you guys to highly look at a joint use driveway. A joint use driveway. I’m not going to be one person's driveway and somebody else gets to live with that kind of decision. So I highly encourage you to think about a joint use driveway.
>> who was it that had -- that had this map? Could I -- could I have it for one week?
>> yes.
>> we will make sure that we get it back to you.
>> okay.
>> will that be fine, ms. Callahan. Bob, if you will make sure that you get her number.
>> any more discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. We will have this item back on the agenda next week. That is September 13th. Right?
>> yes.
>> thank you all very much.
