Number 24 is to approve modification number 1 to interlocal agreement number il 0200189 ef with Austin/Travis County mental health and mental retardation for community action network coordinator services.
>> and this is one of those things too it was just like there was lacking some line item that basically says so where's this money coming from. Because it's something where it's being funneled from or to in h.m.r.
>> this particular funding item, it goes to mhmr because they handle the funding for the community action network with we are a partner and there are 13 other entities in town who are also a part. Of that group, there is a -- several of our partners who have assembled to take on the idea of a centralized eligibility process. So this is somewhat of an outgrowth of some of the planning work that we've been doing in the community, and so the partners I think came to realize that the best way to have this done with the limited resources available to the community action network, I mean we though there are only two staff that make up that group to employ a consultant to meet with all the partners and gather the information that would allow us to make a community decision around centralized eligibility. Now, the benefits of Travis County is that as our community becomes more and more computer literate and more and more computers are available for people to actually figure out what they are eligible for, this centralized eligibility process could actually in the long term impact the number of people who are at our doors for eligibility. Because people would be able to put in there information through a computer terminal either at their home or at a library or wherever they could access, enter certain information that would give them presumptive eligibility. That's our interest in this particular project because the -- as many people as we can divert from our programs who already know that they are not eligible makes the quality of the time that we can spend with those folks who are eligible that much better. And so this out come that we're looking for is to have folks be able to enter in certain information and actually find out whether they are eligible for a cross-section of programs, not just Travis County programs, but there will be chip, medicaid, medicare, our summer youth program. So any program that we wanted to put the eligibility requirements into a centralized system, a person would be able to enter their personal data and find out if they were eligible.
>> did the other partners come up with their 20,000 so that our 5,000 seals the deal that this work gets done as anticipated in the work statement?
>> the total is 20,000. The other partners came up with 5. There may be one or two partners that did 4.
>> our backup says it's 25 -- well, it's not to exceed 25.
>> right. For but the --
>> but it won't be done until all partners make their contribution and say green light.
>> right.
>> so the source of funding for your 5 is what? Change that to our 5.
>> the source of funding for your 5, I believe it's left over social service contract dollars. Again, it would be money that would be designed for services in the community, and this is certainly a social service purpose.
>> make sure the other partners get it. Otherwise it doesn't -- the work doesn't get done.
>> better yet, we hand our 5 over when it's clear that the full amount of funding necessary has been generated.
>> that's not a problem. This is also a reimbursement contract.
>> anything further?
>> judge, I move approval.
>> second.
>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
