Road District #3

View captioned video.

Good afternoon. Let's call to order the Travis County road district number 3. Item 1 approve payment of claims and authorize county treasureer to invest road district funds. There are claims but no investments. All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Number 2, consider and take appropriate action on f.y. '06 proposed road district budget and tax rate.
>> the total value of the road district is certified at a higher level than 234 prior year going to 374 million. Current tax rate is 18 cents. The proposed tax rate would decrease that to 16.5 cents. The only expense of the road district is debt service. That amounts to $623,000. Beginning fund balance $367,000. And both the financial adviser and your planning and budget office propose to use a small amount of that to set the rate at 16.5 cents. The law says you must set the debt service rate before an ad is publicly displayed and that ad is scheduled for this Saturday. For all taxing jurisdictions. That's why it's on your agenda for approval. [inaudible].
>> our expert?
>> mr. Patilla and mr. Smith.
>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> move adjourn.
>> second.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote too.
