We do need the Travis County housing finance corporation and -- first item is 1. Consider and take appropriate action on request to consider the results of compliance audit of metropolis apartments project.
>> good afternoon, I’m harvey Davis, manager for the corporation.
>> good afternoon.
>> we last met on this item on February 8th. And at that time I told you that I had done an audit of the metropolis apartments and they were not in compliance with the low income leasing requirements. That requirement is that they have to lease at least 20% of the units to persons whose income does not exceed 50% of the Austin area median income. For example, for a single person, that person is 249 hupdz. -- $24,900. As a result of my audit, they had only 59 units that qualified as low income tenants. The board authorized sending a care letter by our attorney giving them 60 days to regain their low income leasing requirements. I have gone back out to the metropolis apartments and done a follow-up audit and am happy to report that they have regained compliance. In fact they have a little bit of cushion, they have 71 units that are qualified as low income units. If you will recall, when the apartment manager was here on February 8th, they said they were going to institute a triple checking procedure to make sure that they did not commit the errors that -- that were uncovered in the prior audit. And they did institute that and they told me when I was out there that they -- that that made a lot of difference. They did catch a lot of their mistakes and it showed when I did the audits because I could not find any mistakes. So --
>> good.
>> my request to the board is that you approve a letter, an attached letter that would be assigned by the president of the board and be sent to frank [indiscernible] who is here representing the owners of the metropolis apartments.
>> so moved.
>> second.
>> would the owner like to address the court?
>> the own I don't believe is here today.
>> who is here? Nobody?
>> nobody.
>> we authorize the -- move to authorize the judge to sign the prepared draft letter on behalf of the Commissioners court and that we extend worth of appreciation to the apartment folks for working with us. That we do that, too.
>> second.
>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> move adjourn.
>> thank you.
>> second.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote, too. Thank you very much, mr. Davis. You have the original of the draft letter? Or do I have it?
>> [inaudible - no mic]
>> all right. Thank you.
