Item 22

Number 22, consider and take appropriate action to set a public hearing regarding request to authorize introducing of triploid grass carp, white amur into irrigation ponds at Travis County's northeast, east and southeast metropolitan parks pursuant to requirement of Texas parks and wildlife department. The question is for what date are we setting the public hearing?
>> March 22nd, 2005, east rural community center, six to 7:30. May I clarify one thing. This is not necessarily a public hearing, number one. The rules read public meeting or hearing. It is their meeting, it is not a formal Travis County Commissioners court public hearing. And so essentially -- I would prefer to look at it -- I apologize if we've given you two messages there.
>> what's the date?
>> this month, March 22nd, 6:00 for 7:30 p.m. At the east rural community center near manor, Texas. And we will be advertising this in the statesman beginning this Sunday, and it will go for a week.
>> why don't we put on our agenda on one of the back pages what we basically thought of a public meeting -- that we're basically holding a public meeting also and the times and the information you just gave me. That would be helpful so we have a chance to do it on the 15th plus the 22nd, so two more advertising opportunity.
>> do we need to take a motion, though, of taking notice of the Texas parks and wildlife public meeting on March 22nd at the east rural center, 6:00 to 7:30.
>> I believe so.
>> that would be my motion.
>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. This is a state requirement and they do everything.
>> staff will be there to support it.
