Travis County Commissioners Court
January 11, 2005
Item 9
Going back to number 9, that was a disclosure. Yesterday the county attorney advised on 9, that is the relationship of a spouse, that's the county judge's spouse who is employed by the Austin Travis County mhmr and I have a formal disclosure that the county attorney prepared for me yesterday. And basically what it says is -- is that -- that a person related to me in the first degree, specifically my wife, has a substantial interest in a business entity that we do business with and their income from this entity, Austin Travis County mhmr in the previous year exceeded 10% of a gross income and it was recommended to me that I filed this with the clerk. Which I do at this time. And to the extent that action is required on 9 --
>> move approval of acceptance of the letter and filing thereof.
>> any more discussion? All in favor? Sam Biscoe abstains, the rest of the court supports the motion.
>> it should be merely -- if the court was going to take a vote at all, it would be accepting the filing. Is that what your motion was?
>> to accept the filing.
>> okay.
>> so accept the filing of the disclosure affidavit.
>> affidavit.
>> that's exactly what the motion was and what we approved.
