39. Consider and take appropriate action on request for approve sections of donation of 25-foot upon toon boat to the Travis County sheriff's office lake patrol from just for fun water craft rental, that is eye them number 39. I guess I’m trying to understand what impact this would have on Travis County. What commitments will we have in the future? Consequences as a result of accepting this donation, if we do?
>> what we're doing is switching out two units, about four years ago the court accepted a military surplus boat that we received via harris county. It had been used vietnam era boat, in the military for a number of year, harris county picked it up and used it for drug interdiction in the houston ship channel, we used it for four years, we're in the situation that given its age and mechanical complexities, it's a british-built boat, parts are becoming very hard to fine, it's becoming expensive to keep maintained. We use that as an auxiliary boat to use for dive operation, not as a routine patrol boat by any means. It's not real suited for that. We would like to petition the governor's office to retire that boat, get it back to the state of Texas and if in fact found another party is willing to accept it and along with the financial obligations of keeping it up, we were approached by just for fun to replace that boat with what we feel is a much cheaper, very low maintenance boat. We already have an engine that the county owns in place t money budgeted for fuel is already -- already there for the boat, if we're doing the switchout, in fact we would hope to see pretty sizeable savings by going to a much more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly boat than the current 1972 diesel technology that we're currently running.
>> the sheriff office is not the only one [inaudible] vote.
>> no, sir. No, sir, in fact we've reduced our fleet and are trying to streamline. The court has been gracious enough to give us the funding for upgraded and better boats that better serve our purpose and that has enabled us to reduce our fleet through contracts such as honda motor craft who is gracious you have -- enough to rent the craft for $1 a year.
>> with such an accurate an generous explanation I move approval.
>> that other one wasn't a swift boat, was it?
>> no, it was not.
>> thank you.
>> discussion?
>> all in favor. That passes by unanimous vote.
