6 is approve resolution recognizing the vietnamese american heritage flag.
Whereas a significant number of vietnamese americans have chosen to make Travis
County, Texas their home. Whereas Travis County's vietnamese americans have
made substantial contributions to the cultural, religious, social, political
and business life of our community. And whereas vietnamese americans embrace
the heritage and freedom flag, a yellow flag with three horizontal red stripes
as a symbol of the vietnamese american communities. The flag represents resilience,
freedom and democracy in vietnam and vietnamese communities. Now therefore
be it resolved that we the Travis County Commissioners court do here by encourage
all residents of Austin and Travis County to join us in recognizing the contributions
of vietnamese americans during this year's veterans celebration.

>> thank you, sir. I would like to represent the vietnamese
american community in Travis County, and judge Biscoe and Commissioners, on
behalf of the vietnamese-american community in Travis County, we would like
to express our appreciation to your approval of the recommendation of the
vietnamese heritage and freedom flag. The vietnamese-americans have embraced
the flag since 1948 when vietnam gained independence from france. And during
the war, the vietnam war, and we carried that deep cultural heritage flag
to america. On this coming Thursday, November 11th, the veterans day, hundreds
of vietnamese from other cities in Texas will come to celebrate the veterans
day, to show their appreciation to the vietnam vets and also with us to celebrate
the resolution that you have just approved. And again, we appreciate your
support and please be assured that the resolution means a lot to vietnamese
american community in Travis County. Thank you.

>> I’m sorry, my name is (indiscernible) cho. I’m chairman
of the advisory board of the vietnamese community in Austin. And I am also
the chairman of the heritage of freedom flag committee. And this is the flag
that's going to be presented.

>> thank you, thank you. That passes by unanimous vote on
number five. And six, that passes unanimously also. Thank you all very much.
And we will be part of the Thursday celebration. I assume the Commissioners
court is invited right along with the other residents of Travis County?
