Item 25
25. Consider and take appropriate action on issues related to the conduct
of the November 2004 joint general and special election. 8 precinct polling
places are new, this is a request basically to send post cards to the voters
of the location of the new polling place, basically?
>> yes, these are brand new locations, these folks have never
seen these before. There's even one when we had great difficulty in the past
finding them a home. I believe the number on that is 232. So I need permission
to do a mailout that large. It's included in my postage budget. He we can
handle the language for each of the post cards in english and spanish has
been provided to you. I need the court's permission to do 11,000 pieces.
>> should we approve up to $3,000? I think that was the estimate
that would include the recently registered voters who have not been processed
yet?
>> correct. We do wrant to include those -- we do want to
include those folks.
>> 3,000 bucks up to include everybody.
>> quick question, 230 that's been kind of floating up there
on spicewood springs, in an apartment complex.
>> yes, at mangia's pizza. They finally have a home.
>> excellent, thank you.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> so, dana -- dana, when will those post cards be going
out.
>> I think within the next week.
>> pardon me?
>> within the next week.
>> within the next week?
>> yes, sir.
>> okay. Because we are also telling them if you read the
text of that post card, we are their nearest early voting location, too, if
they want to take advantage of that, we want to get it out there pretty quickly?
>> right. Oakey-doke.
>> thank you very much.
>> thank you.
