29. Consider and take appropriate action on security issues related to the conduct of the November 2004 joint general and special election.4. [indiscernible] [papers shuffling - audio interference]
>> thank you, ms. Velasquez. 30. Receive legal briefing and take appropriate action on ferguson and tuscany way extension project. That's the consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act and by the way, number 29 was the security issues exception to the open meetings act. 32. Consider offers to sell and take appropriate action regarding drainage easement needed by Travis County for installation of stormwater facilities as part of the anderson mill road improvement project (cip # 01-b01-01-3ca) in precinct 3. That's the consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act and the real property exceptions to the open meetings act. 33. Receive legal advice and -- john, do we need that.

>> okay. Then we will not call up item no. 33 involving the hospital district. We will have that back on the court's agenda next week. Just in case we need it. 34. Receive briefing from county attorney and take appropriate action on settlement in richard mccain versus Travis County. That's the consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act. 35. Consider and ta and 33 receive broafing from county attorney and authorize county attorney to hire consulting experts regarding velma poe versus Travis County et al. That's the consultation with attorney and personnel matters exception to the open meetings act. We will skies these matters in -- we will discuss these matters in executive session but will return to open court before taking any action.

I move that we authorize the construction of necessary electrical panels and switches at a cost of $23,500, and that we approve the rental of a generator for the election which will cost $806.

>> judge, I move that we discontinue at this time our negotiations with mr. Nolan that we have staff to proceed with the traffic-calming devices in that particular area. So we will get staff to do that, we'll move forward with this project.
>> second. The other thing would be that we ask staff to stay in touch with the residents of the neighborhood. I know they have been following this matter for years now so it would be good to get their input along the way.
>> right. And also on that discussion, judge, also it was brought up today and which is still a part of this discussion, since you've already seconded the motion, is that I would like for my staff to direct something in writing to the sheriff's department to look at unauthorized truck traffic going through the neighborhood and see if we can rectify the situation with them citing -- giving citations to those particular vehicles that are violating the no-truck traffic signage in that area. This is something we need to look at so I would like to discuss that as part of this motion with the sheriff's department.

>> 32, the anderson mill road, move that we approve the second offers to sell to the following property owners in the following amounts. Aiken, $40,000. Jackson, $8,325. Andres, $4,296.

>> discussion? This property is necessary for this project and we think staff -- thank staff for their dedication and hard work on it over the last 12 or 13 months. All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Number 34 we discussed the last couple of meetings. Move that we authorize settlement of this matter in the amount of $55,250. 40,000 is supposed to come from salary savings. From the constable of precinct 4. '04 budget. The other 15,250 from '05 allocated reserve. Indicate the court's desire to try to identify savings, salary savings over the next 12 months to reimburse the allocated reserve.

>> any discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. 36 involving the claim of velma suppose powe against Travis County, move that we authorize the county attorney to hire appropriate consulting experts and spend up to $15,000.
