Now 39 is disclose relationship with key contracting person, spouse, and
approve order regulating the requirements of discretionary contracts pursuant
to section 32.004 f of the Travis County ethics policy for the purpose of
approving contracts during 2004 between Travis County and daughters of charity
health services of Austin. For the last three weeks we have disclosed that
Commissioner Davis' wife is employed by seton hospital at the facility at
38 and a half. What this does basically is in addition to disclosing that
relationship, it approves waiving the requirement as to seton because Commissioner
Davis is a key person, his wife is on our key persons list. Seton hospital
has a contract with the hospital district and city of Austin, those kind of
intertwine, so 39 really is to disclose that relationship and waive it which
means Commissioner Davis can participate in this decision-making should he
choose. Anything in addition to that? Except we did disclose previously that
your spouse is not in a management position at seton, but is employed there.
So this has been super sensitive and cautious, as we always are when we conduct
public business.
