Number 34. Approve modification number 4 to contract for resides schedule
of rates for court reporting services with a better court reporting service.
>> I was confused about what the e-mail question -- the e-mail
question on this. I guess everybody else got this as far as the backup where
it was talking about --
>> no money had been spent and we have the $50,000. I mean
it's just -- I didn't understand it at all by the time I started reading the
e-mails.
>> let me see if I can try to explain it to you. Cyd grimes,
Travis County purchasing agent. What we have tri to do over the years is have
contracts in place for all of our needs and we have several contracts for
court reporting services. This is among one of several. It just so happens
they did not spend any money against this contract last year. At one point
we had the not to exceed amount at 25,000 and in some of those contracts they
exceeded it so we sort of across the board raised the not to exceed amount
to 50,000 on all of them. On this particular contract, they just did not spend
any money with her last year. And-but we still have the contracts in place
if they need them at any time.
>> okay.
>> do they think they need the contract in place this year
and funded?
>> yes. They asked us to renew it.
>> so with anticipation that there would be a need for it
this year, I mean and that does kind of clear up, I mean what was questioning
about the e-mail about nothing being written against it why are we doing that.
Okay. I understand.
>> move approval.
>> second.
>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
