Number 6, consider and take appropriate action on request to adopt order
setting the Travis County tax rate for f.y. '05.
>> you should have before you an order which is in three
parts. The first part is to approve the debt service tax rate of .1022. The
second part is to approve the maintenance operation tax rate of 38-50 and
the third part is to approve the total of those two which is 4872 in accordance
with statutes that require a separation of the tax rate approval process.
You may remember that this tax rate is the result of the preliminary budget
tax rate which was proposed at .5016 less .0144 for the hospital district,
resulting in a new tax rate of 4872.

budget was filed in -- on July 25th, and it was discussed as early as early
June, so for three months it has remained at this level.

>> then I move approval. Let me be more specific, county
attorney. I move approval of maintenance and operations tax rate of .3850.
