9, consider and take appropriate action on central booking analysis and recommendation. Alicia is here so we'll go back up and get 7 after 10, okay? 9, 10, 7.
>> good morning. Mike kimball, kreupl justice coordinator. A couple weeks ago central booking interlocal committee on whose behalf I'm here had presented some of its analysis and recommendations regarding some of the issues related to the interlocal agreement. And what we're doing today is bringing that analysis recommendations back for further consideration. Also there was some pieces of information that were requested and we included those in your backup as well.
>> so what's asked of us today?
>> what we're asking is your consideration and approval of the recommendations of the interlocal committee with regards to the issues.
>> and michael, one of the things in terms of what is one of those new ads, one of the things on page 2 we were discussing in terms of who was doing what, we hadn't really captured what the city of Austin was contributing in terms of magistration, in terms of the value of that to the full cost model in terms of that there were some expenditures that some of those were being paid for or absorbed, however you want to describe it, by the city of Austin and we didn't accurately reflect that credit within the books.
>> right. And to provide that information, that's attachment c in your backup, and bill will probably have some more information on that is correct but just real quickly, we did include some of the information that we had gleaned from their f.y. '04 budget information with regards to their cost of magistration and also costs related to the i.d. Process. Bye might have some more on that.
>> understand that these numbers are sort of gross numbers ran not -- shouldn't be considered refined. It's our best estimate.
>> so basically we would be approving issues that the central booking committee will continue to work on.
>> what you would be approving is the recommendations for us to proceed on the issues, but then also as we, you know, line up to start discussions with the city as well. Just provide us some guidance based on your approval of those recommendations, the analysis that was done.
>> well, judge, I mean bottom line for me, I mean if you just go to page 2, page 2 really clearly articulates what I want to see out of this thing. I mean when you go to f.y. '04, the differential between the average cost for pwaorbging and average reimbursement for the city booking, I mean I want that zero. And if magistration is part of that, and I think that, you know, obviously some of the recommendations that the committee has made, I mean that's what we're working towards. But, you know, boom line is that, you know, I'm not asking for any more than what is due us. And I expect the city to do that with us. And from, you know, everything that i've seen, the city is pretty good at doing that from us, and I think that's what we ought to ask of the city. So with the committee trying to get that to zero versus 63-93 is bottom line where I'm coming from.
>> and the information that we provided along those lines, we did try to provide some of the estimates of the city contribution. To get a little more at I guess what kind of the whole picture is. And you can see kind of a sraoe advised percentage too. What we had -- revised percentage. What we had included on page 2 is that they are currently reimbursing about 42% in f.y. '04 for the total cost of the booking. But once we factor in some of their contributions and given the fact these are our best guesstimates based on their budget data, that goes to 50%. So we are trying to consider those things. The direction we're looking for is really to move the direction of trying to capture some more of the actual costs that are accrued in a given year, along with actual booking information. That's the model that we kind of presented for your consideration and approval. To capture more of that.
>> the current central booking contract expires when?
>> it expires at the end of f.y. '05.
>> okay. Move approval.
>> second.
>> discussion? That's approval of staff recommendations and basically directions to proceed to negotiate with the city of Austin. Any more discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Thank you very much.
