Number 30, consider and take appropriate action regarding tax office internet services including continued use of bearing point or use of another provider and consistent presentation of internet site on a realtime basis. On the first point what we want to do is continue to use bearing point for a specific thing.
>> that's correct. The Texas department of transportation is only allowing bearing point or Texas online to use their motor vehicle renewal. We would like to continue with the motor vehicle renewal through the bearing point site.
>> move approval of that.
>> second.
>> discussion?
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Now, what bearing point has been doing is very, very little, as I understand it. They've been notified that we're going to drop that part of the contract.
>> I haven't specifically said we're dropping the contract. I have erm -- I have personally told them, as has ms. Spears, that we weren't going to renew August the 31st, but that's strictly up to the Commissioners court. It was our intent not to renew.
>> okay. I move approval of that.
>> second.
>> is that a modification.
>> yes, sir. I believe the county attorney's office is working on that.
>> okay.
>> I understand, dusty, is there -- are there dollars that bearing point may say that they've still got on the table? I mean, the contract is a contract, but it says 83104, that we can cut that, would you anticipate that we would have trouble with bearing point?
>> I would not anticipate any problems.
>> that is kind of what got my attention, but if that's the case...
>> I would think if it's a modification, they would have to sign anyway. He's saying we really have no use for them except for this main part that we're renewing. On the other other part it really hasn't been worth anything to them or us.
>> yeah. We're not using any of the other stuff. And in fact, if we wanted to do it, it would cost money to do it. And we have other avenues to be able to do all that stuff for nothing.
>> most of the things that -- when we first proposed this to you all back in 1999, that's when we came forward with this, we had these same items that we addressed with bearing point. Most of these have come back that this will be a 200,000-dollar development or some other large number. And we're certainly not going to come to you all and ask you to do a 200,000-dollar development. Our current software vendor is willing to do this at no cost, as he has done with some of his other customers. So that's where we would like to go at this point in time and get many more features for the citizens of Travis County.
>> on 30-b you're asking us to approve things with easy access.
>> yes, sir.
>> and authorize that y'all negotiate the specifics and bring this contract to the Commissioners court.
>> yes, sir.
>> so the backup on number 3, there are a through e, five things that you expect easy access to do for us? Move approval of that.
>> second.
>> that means basically authorize the county attorney to work together and come up with a contract and present that to us at some point in the future.
>> yes, sir. I've talked with cameron. She's got it going as we speak.
>> now, you were asking that the purchasing agent be authorized to sign it, but the court needs to see the contract. So if we see the contract, we may as well execute it.
>> that was my ignorance, sir. I just put that.
>> all right. I'm just saying this is so general that we need the specifics in the contract when it comes back -- if we approve the specifics -- disdes. All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> thank you.
>> that's it, right?
>> thank you.
