28 is to receive and discuss the second revenue estimate for the fy '05 budget process.
>> I guess these have become more important as the year goes on.
>> we'd like to think that they're all important, judge. We think they're a lot more accurate as we go along. I was just teasing.
>> I'm with the county auditor's office. Today we have the second revenue estimate for you for the fy '05 budget process. This is the first one that had almost all the funds in it. The third one will have all the funds. We did not have a couple of the general service funds right here on this one. The general fund is about $335.5 million. Ending balance is about 46.1. And new revenue of about $289.4 million. It's another 12-million-dollar increase over the '04 revenues as it stands right now. In this estimate what we have done -- unlike the first one, we have not tried to allow for a hospital district. The auditor and the budget office decided it was best just to present it the old way and then we'll make that adjustment as necessary. So we use 29.97 cents for the tax rate. It's the same rate we would have used in the first estimate had we not tried to make that adjustment. This is a very conservative estimate because it's still early on. Some things were probably a little lower than they're going to be when we get to the end. We just need a little more time to get through them. A couple of things i'll bring your attention to very quickly. If you'd look at the general fund under governmental, it looks unusually low. That's because many of those things -- some of them are not decided yet. We're going to be ready for next year, if we're going to have them. And some of those things come in during the year, so the '04 budget is not -- it was not quite apples and oranges. It was a little higher. And the reason the '05 budget grew and was incremental. And of course there's not much in the way of transfers in there yet. There's nothing from the corporations or anything significant like that. So you've got about 335.5 million for general fund. The debt service tax rate at this point is 10.22 cents. Of course, your principal and interest are already set, so that shouldn't change much as we go through them and we get the final assessed valuation, then we'll set that debt rate. But it should be pretty close to that. And that's a little increase over the debt service rate for this year. And of course, that just changes depending on what we have to pay next year. We have a short presentation and we'll be glad to answer any questions that you have on the estimate.
>> questions? Thank you very much.
>> now, alicia, thank you for your patience. And I guess after that one we'll take up that tax rate for the hospital district.
