Item 17

Just real quick on item 17 that is correct is receive update and take appropriate action on city of Austin and Travis County efforts to implement house bill 1445 for the review and inspection of subdivisions in the extraterritorial jurisdiction.
>> how about 10 minutes? Is that too much?
>> five would be a whole lot better.
>> i'll make it five.
>> the meeting is tomorrow and nothing has happened since our last meeting.
>> I heard you last week. We have been working very hard in the interim week to come up with a fee for the subdivision review in the e.t.j. And we're very close and we believe tomorrow we can make that recommendation to the subcommittee. We are making some assumptions in the process. At some point we would like your feedback on what those assumptions are with regard to full cost recovery, with regard to the payment of the partial of the salary of the director of the single office, with regard to charging for public notices. So there's some elements of this that we are presuming certain things from a policy perspective. And that's the only thing that perhaps next Tuesday I would like to get some direction from the court on those specific items. But suffice it to say that we are moving forward to meet a schedule that gets you a fee schedule and the codification of the division of labor sooner than what we told you last week. The codification, understand, there were two ways to take care of the settlement with the city on who does what. One is to amend the interlocal agreement. The other is to amend the code. I think it's the recommendation of t.n.r. And your county attorney's office that we amend the code. That sets up a process at the city, however, of public hearings, going to boards and commissions. So that -- that process will take a little bit longer, but we believe it's probably the most effective way of getting this change brought about at the city. So with that said, i'll bring to the subcommittee tomorrow our recommendation on the county fee as well as a schedule for completing this whole 1445 issue.
>> okay.
>> under phaoeuf minutes.
>> thank you very much.
>> thank you, joe.
