Number 2 is to approve a proclamation recognizing cinco de mayo and designating may as "hispanic heritage month" in Travis County. Commissioner Gomez?
>> good morning, give everyone an opportunity to come up for the reading of the application? Whereas 2004 marks the 142nd anniversary of the battle of puebla, in which men and women from goliad, Texas successfully defended themselves against french troops, whereas 18 years ago, Travis County began hosting the cinco de mayo celebration in order to keep alive the spirit of community that is signifying the battle of pueblo, to recognize the men and women who fought and those who fought to ensure our freed dim. This marks the 8th annual combined city of Austin and Travis County celebration, sponsored by many elected and officials of department heads along with the downtown Austin alliance, whereas Travis County will celebrate cinco de mayo at wooldridge park from 11:00 a.m. To 2:30 p.m. On Wednesday, may 5th, featuring mariachi and folkloreico dancer, plenty of food, booths and refreshments. Now, therefore, be it proclaimed that the Travis County Commissioners court does here by recognize the 142nd anniversary of cinco de mayo and encourages all citizens to participate in Wednesday's festivities. Furthermore, we here by designate may as history cultural awareness month in Travis County, Texas and encourage all citizens to participate in this month long celebration of hispanic culture, I move approval.

>> we would like to invite everybody out today for simg sing event, this year we have as Commissioner Gomez said, other sister city saltillo is bringing in a mariachi band and fork lore come dancers, they are really good, plenty of food from chicken chalupas, all kinds of fajitas, fish fry, sausage wraps, corn, brisket tacos. All kinds of foods for everyone to come on down that's free to the public. I also wanted to thank downtown Austin alliance, Austin Travis County hispanic chamber of commerce. And all of the elected, appointed officials have been sponsors to this event. Look forward to everybody going down there. Once event this event -- once again this is from 11:00 to 10:00 on wooldridge park.
