Citizens Communication
Citizens communication is next. Three citizens have signed in. This item gives residents an opportunity to address the Commissioners court on any matter not on the agenda for three minutes. Phillipa is first, followed by [indiscernible], martin --
>> he was the man on item no. 1.
>> oh, okay.
>> [indiscernible]
>> it was somebody -- and ms. Dick, the floor and show are all yours.
>> thank you. Good morning.
>> good morning.
>> my name is ms. Physical therapy lila dick, this is our son, once again. Parents of concerned inmates being abused in Texas prisons, jails and youth facilities. This is a picture of my son and I am really and truly trying to fight to get him home safely. And nornl am I do -- not only am I doing this, the whole group is trying to do this. So what we have decided, we have been putting, talking and the concerned parents of putting together a class action lawsuit. We would like to file it against the disciplinary court. That we feel that it's a corporate [indiscernible] that's holding our inmate loved ones, you know, in prison. They write up the guards and things write up complaints of the inmates, it's read by the, you know, warden, it's the warden that decides that inmate's disciplinary punishment. That is -- we found that to be really on the corrupted side. That is so many guards and -- and wardens that -- that you know that -- that -- well, they are prejudiced, they, you know, have different reasons for -- for wanting to abuse an inmate. We are looking for a class action lawsuit in that area and we would like to also place lawsuits on the wardens and guards, you know, that have written these type of complaints. We would like for them to be proven in a court of law like maybe out here. We would also like to see lie detector tests at this -- at this lawsuit, we would like to have that mandatory. So that we can determine who is telling the truth. If it's the wardens, the guards or the inmate. We would like to know, you know, the truth about -- about all of these complaints that we have filed. Even with the naacp. When I came here before, and showed you all of the complaint forms, all of those complaints have been turned in. And so we were trying to put together, you know, a class action lawsuit for these inmates so that we can put some protection on the -- on their life because -- because they are being threatened, you know, by guards. I've had the guards even tell me how my son is going to return to me home in a body bag. Don't know parent want to hear anything like that. Ms. Nichols have gone through the same thing here last week or so when she was here. We parents are trying to protect our inmate loved ones. When they went in they were healthy, you know, what I'm saying? So why should they come back out all in a body bag [buzzer sounding] or -- or abused, you know, where that they are not productive for society? You know? So I think that something needs to be done, something needs to be -- obvious -- all of this needs to be looked at. The only thing, like I said, the group and I could come up with would be the class action lawsuit.
>> thank you.
>> thank you, good luck to you.
