>> it reads whereas one of our nation's most precious natural resources is the collective experience and abilities of our older citizens, whereas the retire and senior volunteer program, rsvp, promotes older adult volunteers as resources in meeting critical community needs such as those in the areas of health, education, social services, public safety and environment tall concerns, environmental concerns, whereas last year alone, 1,102 local volunteers contributed 126,123 volunteer hours of service to 169 non-profit agencies and organizations in Travis County, whereas in 2003, the value of donated rsvp services, volunteer services, amounted to $3,480,033. Whereas rsvp offers opportunities for people 55 and older who actively participate in the life of their communities through significant and meaningful volunteer services. >> yes, I want to thank you all, it really is quite impressive whenever you look at those totals collectively. Over $3 million. But I think what is truly priceless is when you look at the individual stories of our volunteers. The volunteers every Thursday at metz elementary school to tutor there have been identified as failing who are now succeed in this the classroom to volunteer. Who goes to st. David's hospital once a week to educate the others, about the importance of immunizations. The volunteer who leads seniors in exercise classes at conley-guerrero senior activity center, that's what -- appropriately the theme of our recognition is the magic of volunteering. This coming Thursday, we look forward to coming -- to seeing you all there so you can hear and experience the stories of our volunteers.
>> [indiscernible]
>> thank you.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
