Whereas the caring citizen volunteers of Travis County and keep Austin beautiful incorporated are committed and trying to do their part to sustain and improve the quality of life in Travis County, and whereas Travis County and keep Austin beautiful incorporated wish to support the nation's largest organized beautification and community improvement programs, the great american cleanup and the don't mess with Texas trashoff, which is built on the foundation of civic pride and individual responsibility. >> for several years Travis County has supported keep Austin beautiful in a number of ways, and this report is critical to our mission. I'd like to take just a moment to recap who we are and what we do. Keep Austin beautiful's mission is to enpower as you mentioned earlier, the citizens across the greater Austin area to take personal responsibility for their environment. We focus on three goals. Litter abatement, community beautification and waste stream reduction. And we pursue these three goals through education and community activities through the continued support of Travis County, keep Austin beautiful is able to organize events such as clean sweep across Austin, 2004, which will kick off keep Austin beautiful month, the month of April 2004. Clean sweep across Austin will consist of more than 65 individual cleanup activities all across the greater Austin area. Groups of volunteers are participating in the north, south, east and west parts of greater Austin. And then after the morning cleanup on Saturday, April 3rd, the volunteers are invited to festival beach on town lake for a thank you party, free lunch, free t-shirts, bands and rock climbing wall and lots of fun events, festivities for families. The continued support of Travis County allows us to deliver on our mission, and I thank you for your time this morning.
