Item 30
On 30, we put that on the consent motion?
>> no, we didn't. We could have.
>> 30 to declare certain purr surplus property and authorized trade in on new computer equipment pursuant to section 263.152 of the Texas load government code. The reason -- local government code. The memo seemed to indicate that there was some discussion about whether or not this was in the best interests of the county.
>> what the purchasing act said is that the court can just trade in property on -- on a like property if they feel it's in the best interests to the county. We do that occasionally. Because of all of the environmental issue that's we have been having with illegal computer dumps, we thought it was time maybe to reassess how we were selling or disposing of computers. We have met of course with the appropriate staff and dale and think that they are offering us a very good deal. Some of the backup, if you will note, some of the prices that we got for them to -- for other companies to do this were up to 60 or $70 a system. Dell came back for $15. A lot of that will be recycled and reused. Of course the stuff that can't be will be disposed of in accordance with the e.p.a. Guidelines. They also will use hub firms, minorities firms to do some of this recycling work. We feel like they are a very good partner with us on that project, we believe it's in the best interests of the county to do this, that's why we are making this recommendation.
>> any future contrary to -- by p.b.o. Or other staff?
>> move approval? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> thanks, c.i.d.
>> thank you very much ssdi. Thank you cyd.
