Item 10

10-a, consider and take appropriate action on the following requests: a, a short-term certificates of obligation and long-term road and park bonds to be issued in f.y. '04; and 10-b, order tho ring publication of notice of intent to issue certificates of obligation.
>> judge, on item 9, though, there was that other -- the painting of the Barton Creek bridge. Was that included in the motion?
>> I hope because that was hopefully that was the entire thing.
>> my motion was intending to approve all of them.
>> okay.
>> great. Thank u.
>> on item number 10, i'll briefly go over 10-a. There was a memo distributed to your office and basically that is an update of where we stand as of today on voter approved bonds. The Commissioners court intent to issue those as well as certificates of obligation. The memo, a lot of this discussion we've had during the budget process and it will look very familiar toufplt the voter approved bonds are for turn. They are for -- t.n.r. Proposition 2, local roads, pedestrian bridges and accesses and county park projects of 4 hoeupb 1 million in rounded numbers. Total 11.920 million. I don't know if there are any questions about those.
>> questions?
>> on the certificates of obligation, you will see a slight change. In the adopted budget, the Commissioners court approved the intention of 1.9 million, and the projects are listed in that first table on the page 2 of your memo. The only difference between the adopted budget and where we stand today is actually a little phroer amount because we had very good news from the sheriff's department. When they went to issue -- when they went to do -- award a bid, they got a much lower amount than what they expected. And so we were able to take care of that project with some existing certificates of obligation from f.y. '03. They did mention a concern that they had an early process and they wanted to make sure they had some flexibility if additional tp-pbdz were needed. There is a contingency in there of 16,000. We feel very comfortable, if not, f.y. Tea has its own ---you will see the revised chart there halfway down the page totals 1.8 million. And the only difference is that one project. We have sent this out to all departments. It has been widely distributed. We had very minimal comments back and I believe we're good to go to certificates of obligation, which leads us to item 10-b. I believe rod is here if you have questions, but basically that is the order authorizing publication of notices. There is a not to exceed amount and I believe the sale is scheduled on January 20th, 2004 with proceeds arriving as they originally do in March. I'll be happy to answer any questions.
>> January when?
>> January 20th, 2004, is when the scheduled sale would be and we would get the proceeds in March. Thereabouts.
>> so the revised c.o. Figure is $1.8 million?
>> that is correct, sir.
>> a reduction of 100,000.
>> anything we need to hear? Any questions? Motion to approve 10-a and b. Seconded by Commissioner Gomez. Any more discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Thank you very much.
