Item 14
14. Approve twelve (12) month extension (modification no. 3) to interlocal agreement no. Il010029mq, with the Texas department of protective and regulatory services, for administrative support services provided to case workers.
>> I didn't call for that, stephen.
>> it was me.
>> okay.
>> Commissioner Davis. You said Commissioner Davis.
>> stephen, what I understand that -- was there a mixup between whether this was a grant or an interlocal? I mean, the backup -- I was sort of confused and -- in reading the backup on this.
>> I have read that. I'm not sure about the details. The question -- I think my interpretation of what it means is whether or not we were going to treat its our giving a grant to Texas department of regulatory services versus it being an interlocal agreement. This is a -- a contract that has been in place for years. We changed the nature of how we actually provided funds for the contracts and how we -- how we track the dollars. In 1995, what we did was -- was support several portions of several positions at tdprs, but even prior to that we, this county, had been lending support to that state agency to provide an enhanced level of services for abused and neglected children in Travis County.
>> but Commissioner to answer your question, it is an interlocal with d.p.s. -- with the department of protective and regulatory services. They in turn get grant money from the federal government, which -- which what they are saying is our investment of 250,000 gains us an additional 220,000 from federal funding.
>> okay.
>> so it's sort of a -- it is an interlocal and the grant money is going through d.p.s.
>> but this is in our budget, I mean this is --
>> yes.
>> okay. This is in our budget.
>> okay.
>> is this a grant or what?
>> it is an interlocal between Travis County and tprs.
>> the state.
>> grant for what? The answer is no, right.
>> it's an interlocal that we provide services.
>> yes.
>> and they provide services.
>> yes.
>> we fund about half of it.
>> correct.
>> yes. That -- [multiple voices] any more discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> thank you,
