Consent Items

View captioned video.

Posted for consent are c 1 through c 4, I show those to be ready for action. We have been asked to add the following items to the consent motion. If you would like for us to discuss any of these separately, please say so as we call out the item. 6 a and b, charles, I'm assuming there's no problem with b, charles vaughan. This is a stipend money that the county does not pay. This will be state and federal money that basically we simply pass through. Which is why I thought it would be pretty simple. If they are finished with that, let us know, I did not get a chance to contact charles vaughan yesterday. The county doesn't do stipends, but this is sort of -- sort of follow-through money from state and federal government.
>> yes.
>> if there is an issue we will have it back on. Okay. Right? The county money there is in kind, according to the backup. 7 a, b, c -- 7, a, b and c.
>> uh-huh.
>> 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, this is a honk list of purchasing items, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17,.
>> I might have a question on 17.
>> 17 will not be part of the consent motion. 18, I do have a question to myself here, is this a good deal? I assume the answer is yes because staff recommended it. So it is in purchasing. That is a big number, that's why I ask myself the question, but I assume the answer is yes.
>> [inaudible - no mic]
>> yes.
>> next time be a little bit -- with a little more enthusiastic question with this amount of money involved. But number 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, -- on 24 I see the amount that this involves, on the last page of the backup a reference is made to a large amount of money. That has nothing to do with this contract, so I don't -- I don't know why it's back there. I think the amount involved -- it's just that the 300,000 plus figure on the last page throws me off. 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 I investigation I need somebody to tell me what that's about. I don't have it in backup, am I the only one? 29 if I could just -- if ultimate sit right there and give me a 30 second summary in just a minute. 29 is not part of this motion. The matters that we had the public hearing on, 31 and 32.
>> uh-huh. 33 I would just like for you to lay that out for us. It kind of unique, I think the public needs to know where's, why's, wherefor's, et cetera. 35, 36, 37, 38, 40, 42, 44,.
>> move approval of the consent items.
>> would anyone like for us to pull any of these items for operate discussion?
>> judge, on 24, that -- that [indiscernible] [inaudible - no mic]
>> okay.
>> basically, they set aside a lot of money. But it doesn't necessarily happen.
>> right.
>> you can understand the county judge's concern, though, right?
>> right.
>> I saw a 12-month contract for $25,000. Last page all of a sudden we are up to 340,000, 25,000 is just a small piece of the total budget.
>> I believe that line item covers many things in fleet maintenance, not just repair of tires.
>> okay.
>> those words on the next backup would help.
>> I tossed and turned all Sunday night wondering [laughter] all in favor of the motion? That passes by unanimous vote.
