Item 4
4-b is review and approve requests regarding grant proposals, applications and contracts and permissions to continue. B, grant k-rlt with the office of the attorney general for an access and visitation grant program in the juvenile probation department. The grant continues the existing program for f.y. '04.
>> my only question was obviously this is for the '04, through the '04 cycle. If we don't extend that, is the expectation is that something the d.r.o. Will pick up beyond that time or --
>> we've had this grant for a significant period of time. The department has indicated that should grant funds terminate, they would seek to find any and all sources of funding to replace the funding lost by the granted. I think that would probably include a request to Commissioners court; however, they've also mentioned that they are attempting to increase fees and raise revenue in other areas that would cover the cost of it. I don't think there is an indication that we are losing funding, although we are losing the dollar amounts that we are receiving through the grant.
>> that's correct. What we're asking for in this year's grant is a temporary clerical help, and probably -- I don't know if we would ask -- if we didn't get the grant if we would ask kpwheurs to fund that or not. We're going to see if that will help us get our database in line so we can provide the kind of numbers that the judges want to see, the juvenile board. And then we are also -- part of that money is going to be used for particularly conflicted families to send them to therapy at rio grande counseling. That can't afford it.
>> okay. Thank you.
>> move approval.
>> second.
>> any more discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> thank you.
>> thank you all.
