Executive Session

View captioned video.

We have just returned from executive session. Where we discussed the following items: number 27, involving the precinct 4 office building and a -- and a complainant -- complaint and claim from various neighbors, we need this item back on the agenda next week to give the neighbors an opportunity to appear before the Commissioners court and let's ask the county attorney to check with them -- to chat with them about the matters that third discussed in executive session with an eye toward resolving it. We were trying to get -- we will try to get them a time certain on Monday afternoon, so if they want to visit with us we will be able to do so. Anything further on number 27?
>> no.
>> [indiscernible]
>> on item no. 28 we need two weeks until October 21st, 2003. Let's request that Commissioner Sonleitner, assistant county attorney barbara wilson and executive Marching alicia perez work with April bacon between now and then to try to come up with the best policy and action for us. Number 29, the matter involving richard danziger, I move that we counter the counter to the counter with the amount of $950,000 payable in two equal installments, annual installments of $475,000 each.
>> second.
>> any more discussion of that matter? All in favor? Show that that passes by unanimous vote. Number 30, the claim of david m. Grassbaugh versus Travis County and a whole lot of other folk, I move that we respond to the recent counter offer with a -- with an agreement to pay compensation in the amount of $85,000, in release for -- in exchange for full release and any other appropriate legal documents.
>> second.
>> judge, on this one I really -- I'm for this because I think we need to treat this person fairly. However, I think that we can do a better job and I would like for us to -- to look to doing a better job in documenting our actions. As well as -- I guess that's the better part of it. I'm just really concerned how the -- how the amount of money that we pay out on some of these cases can really accumulate and it is preventable. And so -- but I am in favor of treating him fairly.
>> any more discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. On item no. 31 involving the north rural community center and clinic lease?
>> judge, I move the one-month extension at the rate that has been negotiated with the landlord.
>> certainly.
>> and we authorize the county judge to sign the prepared lease amendment?
>> that is way friendly.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
