Now, number 38 is consider and take appropriate action on request to sponsor a public event called car care for clean air day on October 25, 2003.
>> good morning, Commissioners. [inaudible] with Travis County t.n.r. This agenda item is a request by the clean air force of central Texas to once again sponsor the second annual car care for clean air day. Last year in April 2002 you sponsored te vent. It was held at high land mall as this one will be on October 25th. It was sponsored last year by the air waste management association in conjunction with most of the same response thaers are doing it again this year. The difference is that the clean air force has taken over the lead sponsorship role as a member of the clean air force, staff has worked tentatively on the he epbt up until now and -- event and there's been a request Travis County weigh in with an official sponsorship at the same level you did last year which was all in-kind, no budget impacts to this request. And those in-kind services are outlined in the backup. I can go over them if you have any questions.
>> it's a great idea.
>> yes.
>> one note I guess, we are officially looking at implementing an inspection and maintenance program in this county. This event provides our constituents with the ability to see exactly what kind of equipment is involved in that -- in those programs and how that program might work. So we think it's a really good educational opportunity at very minimal costs.
>> we have several participants and glad to see Travis County playing a big role in this. Especially with the display of the propane vehicles. I think as far as getting a way to clean up the air. This is pretty much participated all across the board. D.p.s., Tceq, others will be there also. So I think it's a pretty good deal it's a good group of public and private partnerships at all level, the local, the state, et cetera.
>> so I recommend approval of item.
>> seconded by Commissioner Gomez. Any more discussion in all in favor say aye? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> thank you.
