We sort of gave directions that we need to do a formal response here? Basically that is for the elected official in this case to land wherever she thinks is appropriate. And the -- the Commissioners court's mindset is basically to bless that decision. I understand that she is -- trying to collaborate with another elected official to resolve this matter and we wish they would do so within existing budgeted resources already in their separate and combined departments.

I move that we indicate to counsel for the legal guardian the county's willingness to resolve this matter for the sum of $500,000 lump sum. Or 700,000 payable in two equal payments of $350,000, one in '04 and one in '05.
