Number 3 is to approve resolution honoring christina guerra lopez on her retirement from the health & human services and veterans services department after 23 years of service to Travis County.

>> it reads whereas for over 23 years christina guerra lopez has served the residents of Travis County in the area of social services, whereas since her hiring as a counselor interviewer for the medical assistance program in February of 1980 beginning at brackenridge hospital and her work as a case worker for human services at the west rural community center over the past 15 years, she has clearly demonstrated her commitment and dedication to the community and its resident, whereas christina has played an important role in providing a variety of social services to those in need and for the benefit of the community. Whereas christina's accomplishments are shared with mike, her husband, michael her son and anita her mother, without the love and devotion of all, she might not have percent persevered. Whereas her hard work and dedication are well-known by those whose lives she has touched and whereas it is appropriate that we take this opportunity to honor christina guerra lopez on the indication of her retirement and know that her contributions will remain a part of Travis County for years to come. Now therefore be it resolved that we the Travis County Commissioners court do here by extend special thanks to christina guerra lopez for her years of dedicated service to Travis County and extend best wishes to her in all future endeavors. And I move approval.

>> good morning. I'd just like to publicly thank christina for the service that she's provided the health & human services and veterans services. As you know, our direct service employees are the backbone of our organization because they're the ones who really are responsible for providing services to the community. And I think that it does take perseverance and dedication to really function in a direct service capacity for 23 years. And I just want to express my appreciation for sticking with us. [ applause ]
>> i'd also like to add, we had a very nice retirement party for chris last week, and this is her last week and so we're starting to wrap up things. And chris and I have worked together for 12 years now and we are going to miss her. We've all become a big family out in the west rural center and within our department of health health. And a lot of folks are going to be sad to see chris go.

>> ms. Lopez probably has a few words to say.
>> no. [ laughter ]
>> yes, I do. I take with me wonderful memories and I really appreciate everyone i've worked with. And believe it or not, the clients I'm going to miss. I like working with people, and I'm going to miss everyone. And I thank Travis County for giving me the opportunity to serve the public. Thank you.
>> it's a good time to take up golf. [ laughter ]
>> she's going on a cruise.
>> we need to invite her back for the ceremonies for the west rural community center.
>> we appreciate your hard work, dedication, service, etcetera, 23 years of it.
